Mitsubishi Engineering Milestones

Mitsubishi is proud of the feats in engineering that have put it ahead of the auto industry pack and set it apart as an innovator. Some of these technologies include all-wheel control and super all-wheel control, MIVEC, INVECS Adaptive Shift Control technology, Active Stability and Traction Control, and MiEV technology.

AWC and S-AWC are two kinds of smart drivetrains that read road conditions to determine which wheels to distribute power to. S-AWC is more advanced than AWC, as it has four different modes including normal, snow, lock for off-road, and an ECO mode for improved efficiency. INVECS also responds to driving conditions, except it interacts with the transmission to adapt its behavior to different conditions.

MIVEC is a type of valve timing control that uses valve timing for maximum fuel efficiency. Active Stability and Traction Control increases driving safety by maintaining stability when the driver is performing emergency driving maneuvers.

MiEV technology, or Mitsubushi innovative Electric Vehicle technology, is an “automatic copilot” that maximizes energy flow through EVs to create smoother driving and acceleration, regulates output from the battery, and redistributes the energy from regenerative braking.
These unique technologies have made Mitsubishi a leader in safety, environmentalism, and fuel efficiency.
