Mitsubishi’s Drive@earth is a group of technologies aimed at maintaining driver experience and high performance, while creating solutions that consider the health of the environment around the world. These technologies are divided into three categories: environmental responsibility, driving pleasure, and toughness and safety.
Included in the environmental responsibility category is the i-MiEV mini electric car and ECO Drive Support. In the driving pleasure category, there are features such as the INVECS-III CVT, which both reduces fuel consumption and makes the ride smoother. Tech such as ABS brakes and an active safety system are found on the toughness and safety list.
Mitsubishi has a long history of environmentalism. The company’s ongoing plan to lower emissions and reduce its carbon footprint includes improving environmental management through its own vehicles and educating employees and partners, preventing global warming and pollution by reducing fuel and electricity use across the board, and enforcing recycling and conservation in assembly plants and offices. Mitsubishi aims for a zero-volume final disposal waste record.
